Other than that however, this refrigerator is a great option. It has a huge freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door refrigerators. It also holds plenty of frozen food items compared to other models.
The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker that is tucked away in the left-hand door, although it's not the biggest I've seen.
You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create a customized storage layout for what you want to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice touch and the storage bins feature a third shelf that can fold down to make it possible to store tall items. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and has a ton of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked and when the freezer or fridge must be defrosted and when the filter has to be changed.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE refrigerators that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to pour out at a time. It also has a countdown feature on the fridge's display to display how much water have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like it's a seamless part of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment that helps keep fruits and vegetables fresher longer and dual compressors to ensure maximum food preservation. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This refrigerator is the ideal option for households with a single member or kitchenettes who want an integrated look and top of the line food preservation.
This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed by more than a fraction, this is essential to avoid the risk of a freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within an hour and maintaining the temperature constant over the course of our testing.
Bosch has a reputation for high-end appliances and appliances, so it's not a surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi as well as Bosch's Home Connect platform. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage in the frame's compact size. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has a standard French door layout, with two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.
One of the great things about this refrigerator is that the ice maker is in the freezer, which makes it easy to move the ice to the refrigerator to be used when it is needed. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you to organize the place of items. It also has a huge bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food and an additional ice storage bin.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. This fridge took longer to defrost food and chill it than some others we test. This is likely due to the larger capacity.
The doors pose a problem with this refrigerator. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows smaller people to open them from the bottom, however they're still difficult for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been more effective if these had front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those who want to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it a desirable option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a minimalist design that isn't as striking in appearance as some of the competition, but it has enough features that make it a great pick. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser and a decent Ice machine that is fast.
Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. french style fridge freezer allows you to redirect some of your fridge's cooling power to the area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. You can adjust this feature using a slider that's located right in the middle of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends be more effective than specific ones.
In my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
